Hunter Hughes has worked in media for over 40 years. He started in radio at Virginia Commonwealth University's WJRB which later became WVCW. In addition to being an announcer at the station, he also was the Program Director. While at VCU, he also worked full time at WRXL, XL-102 in Richmond.
As an announcer he worked at Magic 92 in Moyock, North Carolina and WKOC, The Coast in Norfolk which later became Bob FM. At the Coast, he helped establish the Sunday morning radio show Sunrise on the Coast. The show would later be called Sunrise on Sunday on Bob FM.
Hunter also is a veteran of television news. He worked for three years at WTVR TV in Richmond, for 24 years at WAVY TV in Portsmouth and for WVEC TV in Norfolk for 10 years. He has worked as a Videographer, an Assignment Editor and a News Operations Director. He is currently retired from television.
