A graphic designer by profession, Greg relocated to SoCal from Massachusetts in 2002. A lifelong fan of most genres of traditional and progressive music, he was shocked to find his new home near Palm Springs was devoid of decent radio after being spoiled by the mecca of rock, blues, folk, world, and alternative in Boston. He was stuck in a desert of old Rat Pack era tunes, defunct ’80s big hair music bands, and enough classic rock stations where the same song can play on two stations simultaneously. It was music from hell. As a career home-based artist, he searched the internet for an eclectic music mix that could keep him happy and productive. A lot of streaming stations came and went, then behold—one day he found altradio streaming from Norfolk VA. That was probably a dozen or so years ago, and he hasn’t felt the need to switch. Now he gets to support NPR and PBS too, plus meet some great radio engineers along the way, gratefully nudging them to make alt the best stream it can be. He’s now a happy desert-dweller again.
